Viruses and Spyware are on the rise

During the last two weeks of December and through out January is the biggest time of year for people to get infected online.  This trend has been the same for the last several years and the amount of systems getting infected only increase each year as more and more people surf the web.

Types of Threats People Run Into

The most common threats people tend to run into and get infected with are Virtumonde and Vundo.  Check out this virtumonde and vundo to learn more about this threat and what they both do.  Both are from the same family of spyware and can be very hard to remove.  Once infected with these types of  viruses you will get constant pop-ups and re-directs.  Most people also have fake security software installed on their computer as well as a possible desktop highjacker. If you happen to be infected and need help we have a place for you to check out.  This Computer Repair
site for instance offers online computer repair and it’s done right then and there.  It’s really a great service.

Tips to Stay Safe

The best way to stay safe online is to have a good antivirus and antispyware program installed to stop threats from getting through.  No free client online is good enough.  All these clients are free for a reason.None of these free clients offer enough protection.  Yes it’s better then nothing but chances are it will do little to protect you online.

Another great way to stay safe online is to simply avoid sites you do not know and trust.  For instance if you are on Youtube and see a funny clip.  In the comments you may find someone saying something like “If you thought this was funny you need to check out this video,  It’s off the wall”.  People get curious and click the link in the comment and it takes them to a site asking them to install a video codec to watch this so called funny video.Chances are it’s a virus and you do not want to install it.  Avoiding such sites is by far the best way to protect yourself.

Dell 3010cn – Limited Size, Considerable Power

The Dell 3010cn color laser printer comes to us from the folks at Dell. This particular model delivers networkable, high-quality color laser printing for around the same price as a comparable black-and-white printer. For the small home-based business or office which needs a color laser printer for small workgroups, the Dell 3010cn may be the ticket. It also ships with Dell 3010cn Cartridge; both color and black.

How heavy is it? It’s no lightweight, but at about 55lbs. it’s still a fairly easy printer to move around if you need to. Actually, it’s right in the ballpark for printers in this niche. Also, because it’s a color printer (and most are monochrome), that’s an added upside sure to soothe anybody who has a problem with its weight. It’ll fit in well enough in a corner of an office because it’s a bit over a foot square in size, which also makes it attractive to a small business.

Does it Print Well? Spitting out print at the rate of 25 pages per minute, the Dell 3010cn chugs along well enough for most any purpose. When you print strictly in color, you can expect about 5 pages per minute, which is okay. Also, its 600dpi print quality serves most needs adequately. Additionally, it can print over 45,000 pages before needing any meaningful maintenance, which helps keep down printer costs. Storage of paper ranges from 250 all the way up to 900 sheets of paper, depending upon optional configurations.

Working Well With MS. The Dell 3010cn Printer is able to interoperate with most Microsoft Windows systems, including Vista and XP. Also, Novell and NT 4.0 link up in an easy manner through USB 2.0 or 10/100 Ethernet data ports.

How Much Memory? The 3010cn comes with an installed 64MB of memory that can be upgraded to 576MB. With such a wide range, the unit should be able to handle most any print job.

Warranty Packages. 24/7 on-site service calls are covered for the first year. After that, an additional 48 months can be had for a nominal fee. Home-based users get the non-business version of the same plan, also for an extra fee when extending it out.

Toner Cartridges. The printer takes the standard Dell 3010cn toner cartridge. The ones that come with the printer are rated at about 2,000 pages, but that’s because these are so-called starter cartridges. Replacement ones will print out somewhat more. In fact, some owners have reported going more than a couple years without having to replace their toner. This can make the costs of owning a color laser printer like the Dell 3010cn well within the reach of most budgets.

Summing it All Up. Putting the Dell 3010cn to work is relatively hassle-free and without any drama. Dell 3010cn Printer Cartridge are nicely priced and plentiful on the market these days, so there won’t be a big dent on the wallet when it comes time to replace them. Dell’s 24/7 service can help ease the fears of the small business owner, too. And because it works with most Windows operating systems, there’s sure to be little or no problem installing and running one of these printers. Apple iPhone 3G – A review

The good

Apple iPhone 3G has a range of critically new features which includes

1.    the support it provides for 3G networks of high speed,
2.    support for any applications provided by third-party and
3.    support for expanded e-mail.

The call quality of the Apple iPhone 3G has improved. The quality of video and music that is delivered by the Apple iPhone 3G is also of an excellent range.

The bad

Apple iPhone 3G still lacks some of the very basic features that can be availed on the simplest of the simplest of the cell phones. The life of the battery is very uneven. The 3G connection provided by the Apple iPhone is also very shaky. The synchronising of the email has lots of faults associated with it.

The final line

Apple iPhone 3G has managed to keep up its promises. The promises include addition of certain critical features as well as providing a sharper quality of the calls. The 3G support which it provides is really welcomed by the users. Also the iPhone’s iTunes App Store is pretty much amazing.

Even with these, certain critical features are missing from the iPhone still. The battery gets depleted at a very fast rate if the phone is under heavy use. But the improvement of the phone over its older version is really appreciable.

The new features

The iPhone 3G has all the features of the original iPhone. But there are a few new features in the iPhone 3G. The first generation iPhone users are lucky because almost all of the new features which has been incorporated into the Apple iPhone 3G can be obtained as impressive additions in the form of free software update, version 2.0. iPhone Covers

Especially in today’s market it is very important that consumers care for their purchases.  This advice is warranted given the economic condition of the global market and the consumer’s commitment to stretch their unit of currency as much as possible.

In wanting to follow through on this plan of action there are many steps that a consumer can take to protect their investment and increase the performance life of the purchase.  For example, if a family purchases a major appliance they can buy an extended warranty package.  An extended warranty package will provide additional warranty protection in the event that the purchase malfunctions after the initial warranty is expired. Another example of providing protection for the coverage of a major purchase is home insurance.  However, there are simpler and less expensive ways to protect the major purchases that are made.

One additional major purchase that can be made in today’s technologically advanced society is an iPhone and probably the simplest way of protecting that investment is by purchasing an iPhone cover.  As with most items purchased it is best to understand what you’re looking for when in the market for an iPhone cover.   Therefore, it is best to understand the purpose of an iPhone cover, the lifestyle of the iPhone owner and the material use to make the iPhone cover.

Purpose Of IPhone Covers

It may appear on the surface that the purpose of iPhone covers is to simply cover the iPhone and protect the iPhone from damage.  This is a true statement.

However, it is important to remember that lifestyle, both professionally and personally, is a major factor in the selection process.  For example, an individual may need to carry business cards or may want to have the majority of their personal items in one place.  Therefore, having an iPhone cover that not only protects the iPhone but provides space for these types of items may prove more beneficial.

Various Styles Of iPhone Covers

It is important to remember that even though there are many basic products for the consumer to buy, not everyone has the same taste nor are at the same level economically.  Therefore, although the purpose of the iPhone cover is to protect the iPhone, there are many different styles of iPhone covers available to the consumer.

If the iPhone owner is an outdoor type there is a pouch style of iPhone cover that matches this particular lifestyle.  This pouch style cover can easily fit into a backpack, purse or other bag-like container.  Often this type of iPhone cover will hold the phone snugly and yet provide easy access by simply lifting the protective cover held in place by Velcro.

Another type of iPhone cover is the simple holster type.  Generally, this holster type cover attaches firmly to the belt and easy access of the iPhone is gained by simply lifting up on the tab and removing the iPhone from its secure location.

In addition, one type of iPhone cover that is extremely popular, especially in the business world, is the leather case.  This classic style allows for the iPhone to be practically protected and yet still provide a very professional look.

Materials Used For IPhone Covers

In addition to the various styles available for the consumer there are many materials that are used to construct the iPhone cover.  Some of those materials include leather, plastic, metal, fabric, etc.

Dell 2130 Printer – It Won’t Make You Breakfast But It Prints What You Need

Deciding on the Dell 2130 printer is made easier when you consider its facility at producing sharp, clear color and black-and-white text. Also, the price for one of these is an attractive 300 dollars or so, which puts it right in the sweet spot for a start-up business. Add in the convenience of the 2130 Toner, and it’s hard to find fault with this unit. Even color copies are relatively low, which only adds to the 2130’s allure.

Printing Speeds. The Dell 2130 color laser printer can put out black and white pages at up to 20 pages per minute. Color output is about three-quarters of that. This is more than acceptable for small networks or a single user in a home office or small business. It spools up quickly from print command to output, so there’s very little time to wait for any print job to finish.

Installation Factors. With industry-standard 10/100 Ethernet and USB jacks, the Dell 2130 presents no problems when it’s time for installation. For the most part, interfacing it with a PC or integrating it into a small workgroup network is also easy and straightforward. Dell believes in making it easy to use their products, and it shows.

Printing Capabilities. The 2130 Printer is rated at up to 40,000 pages per month in its duty cycle. Its included 2500 page black and white cartridge is good for about 2500 pages, while the color cartridges are okay up to 1000 pages. If you’re looking for a high-capacity printer that puts out color documents almost exclusively, than this may not be the unit you’re looking for.

Operating Systems. The 2130 is compatible with Windows Vista and XP, along with Windows Server 2008, and even Windows 2000. Pretty much all the latest Microsoft operating systems will work with this unit.

Paper Capacity. Standard paper storage capacity for the 2310 comes in at about 250 pages in its standard tray. Adding the optional extra tray brings paper-holding capacity to 500 pages.

How Much Memory? For a unit at this price point, 256 MB of memory is quite good. Plus, it can be increased to 1280MB to handle just about any size print job. When used in monochrome configuration, there’s almost no possibility of running out of print job memory once it’s been expanded. It would be unusual for it to be inadequate for most any print job.

Don’t Forget. As far as replacement printer cartridges go, the Dell 2130 laser toner can be had at reasonable prices, either online from Dell or at several different aftermarket toner cartridge sellers. And because they’re reasonably-priced, costs to the savvy business owner will be able to better hold the line on the cost of printing per page used.

Wrapping Up. The Dell 2130 Printer is a sharp unit. It’s got the advantage of having a strong service warranty from Dell, which can also be extended out for a total of 5 years. It has a large monthly print cycle of up to 40,000 pages, which should be more than enough for most small groups. Dell 2130 Toner are also relatively inexpensive, considering the value one gets from them. Also, they’re pretty widespread, so there shouldn’t be any worry about not being able to find them when it comes time to reorder. The colors are also clear and sharp, and the 2130 can print out at speeds up to 20 pages per minute in black and white, and 16 pages per minute for color documents. Getting Toubles with your PC

The Compaq monitor for my computer was beginning to go on the fritz on my Compaq Hewlett Packard desktop computer. The first sign of trouble occurred when I noticed that the screen seemed as if it were shaking sometimes as if small ripples were running across the page. Then, certain sections of the screen would seem to freeze. I knew something was wrong with the computer and I hoped that the problem lied in the Compaq monitor and not the computer itself. Finally one day I turned the computer on and the monitor just stayed black. I could hear the pc running as usual so I was fairly certain that my monitor had gone bad.

I went to my local electronics store and explained my problem. The salesman agreed that it probably was the monitor and suggested that I should try buying a replacement Compaq monitor and hooking it up to the computer to see. If it was more than just the monitor, the salesman informed me that the store would return the new monitor if I returned it as long as there was no damage to it or that I could keep the new monitor and still pay a discounted price on an entire new Compaq Hewlett Packard computer if I had to buy one. It sounded like a win-win situation to me.

I looked at some of the newer computer monitors and was amazed by the high quality monitors that were offered. Modern technology had done well in improving television sets and other electronics but I had no idea how clear a computer screen could be. Especially since my monitor had been looking like a moving stream for the last few months. There were widescreen monitors, high definition monitors, and the most innovative technology were touch screen computer monitors. I couldn’t believe the selection available.

I ended up purchasing a middle of the road Compaq monitor. It was a widescreen that was moderately priced. Since I was uncertain about what component of my computer was broken, I decided to start smaller. I brought it home and installed it to my Compaq Hewlett Packard desktop computer and what do you know? It worked fantastically. The screen quality was incredible. Now I could look through my photos and play games on the computer with a clear screen. And for the price, I could not believe that great quality of my
