The Compaq monitor for my computer was beginning to go on the fritz on my Compaq Hewlett Packard desktop computer. The first sign of trouble occurred when I noticed that the screen seemed as if it were shaking sometimes as if small ripples were running across the page. I went to my local electronics store and explained my problem. The salesman agreed that it probably was the monitor and suggested that I should try buying a replacement Compaq monitor and hooking it up to the computer to see. If it was more than just the monitor, the salesman informed me that the store would return the new monitor if I returned it as long as there was no damage to it or that I could keep the new monitor and still pay a discounted price on an entire new Compaq Hewlett Packard computer if I had to buy one.
